Fawley Refinery - Refinery gives a welcoming reception
to Families Matter

Families Matter at Cornerstone, Hythe United Reformed Church has been able to complete their rebuilding scheme thanks to a donation of £1000 from Esso and ExxonMobil Chemical at Fawley Refinery.

 

The grant was given in order to help equip the newly refurbished reception area of the Families Matter office with furniture.

Families Matter is a local charity that has been established for eleven years providing support for local families in many different circumstances.

 

They work with other agencies in the Waterside area providing support groups, courses and drop-in sessions as well as working in conjunction with many local schools and the church runs a youth club for local children.

 

Funding such as this greatly helps this organisation grow and remain successful.

 

New groups that are proving very beneficial are with the Mental Health Users and Special Needs groups which cover many aspects that affect the whole family.

 

Peter Blasby of Families Matter said, “I would like to thank the Refinery for their contribution.

 

Their support has enabled us to provide a friendly reception area for people who need our help and an environment that helps us to complete our work to the best possible standard.”

 

Gisela Muns, Fawley Refinery, Community Affairs said, “At the Refinery we see helping the local community as a high priority.

 

The work that is done by Families Matter is fantastic and has benefited so many individuals therefore we are happy to support this valued service.”
