The works will commence on the 1st March 2010 and last for approximately 10 weeks.
The works involve installation of the new signalised crossing south of the junction, and installation of a new footway facility.
The road level through the junction will be resurfaced and raised 50mm, and hence kerbs around the junction need to be raised too.
Existing footway surfacing linking with the existing island to the north of the junction will be removed and the verge re-topsoiled and seeded.
The existing islands are being removed. New white lining and anti-skid treatment will complete the scheme.
Most of the work will be completed off peak under traffic management where possible, however road closures of Twiggs Lane on either side of the A326 will be necessary to complete carriageway tie-ins.
Signing will be erected two weeks in advance of any closure being undertaken once the contractors works programme has been finalised.
