Vandalism in the Parish
Many people in the parish have experienced damage to their property in the last few weeks.

We have been told this is the first time that Long Lane Close in Holbury has suffered in this way and we are particularly concerned that vulnerable elderly residents have been targeted.

A group of individuals, councillors and agencies concerned with the level of vandalism in the parish met with Sgt Phil Mills, and he explained that the police can only do something about a situation if they are made aware of the problem by the residents.

People are urged therefore to report any acts of vandalism, however petty, so that the police can build up a picture of the real situation.

Reports can be made anonymously if you prefer, or if you can photograph the culprits in the act, even better.

If you see something occurring that you consider to be dangerous to someone, please don't hesitate to dial 999.

Otherwise make use of the 08450 454545 or the Community Safety Officers number 0845 600 1747.

Those who behave in an anti-social way must not be allowed to continue to cause damage to property or distress to residents in the parish.

The community needs to stand together and speak out against vandalism.

If you have anything to report, contact any of the numbers above.

If you see or hear anything that causes you or your family to feel uncomfortable in your home or environment, please tell us.

The District Council AND New Forest Police are working with a wide number of different agencies to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and make you feel safer. However, we can't do it alone.

If you see anything you must try to get details of the incident and report it to someone who can take action.

Even if the Police are unable to respond in person, if you can provide details then you will help to make them aware of trends of harassment in your area. Without this information, the Police may well presume there are no problems.
