The festive season brings presents, food and drink, and good cheer – but also a lot of waste paper, bottles and packaging.

So New Forest District Council’s refuse collectors will be working overtime on Tuesday 3rd January to help clear the Christmas and New Year waste and to make sure that collections remain as regular as possible.

The Christmas and New Year refuse arrangements will be as follows:

There will be no refuse collection on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Tuesday 27th December and Wednesday 28th December.

There will be a normal Thursday collection on 29th December and a normal Friday collection on 30th December.

On Saturday 31st December there will be a Monday refuse collection. There will be no refuse collection on New Year’s Day or Monday 2nd January Collections return to normal on Tuesday 3rd January.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres at Efford, Marchwood and Somerley will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
