Kathie Coles became Fawley Parish Council's newest member tonight, 10 February 2005, when she was elected with a 2-1 majority against the Conservative Party Candidate, Beverley Thorne.

The count was witnessed by local people who were thrilled with the return of Kathie to the Parish Council, where she had previously held the office of Chairman of the Council.

Speaking afterwards, she thanked the ladies who had spent all day at the Polling Station and remained to conduct the count, and to her Agent, Ernie Nash, and fellow supporters, including Mike Churchill, and was looking forward to serving on the Parish Council once more.

The turnout was 16.9% with the votes cast as follows:

Kathleen B. Coles Independent 144

Beverley J. Thorne Conservative 73
