Thursday night and throughout Friday 24th and 25th June, Violent thunder storms hit the Parish of Fawley along with the rest of the South, and most of the UK.
More than 15,500 homes in the Midlands and the South of England were without power and a handful of houses were damaged by lighting strikes.
Southampton had some of its traffic lights taken out by the storms on Friday morning. Coventry was also hit with a tornado, but there are no reports of damage to property.
Five hours of heavy rain hit the festival goers at Glastonbury as the farm turned from a dry field into a mud bath. Lighting strikes hit power lines and affected the stages. Play at Wimbledon was also suspended when torrential rain hit London in the afternoon. In Fareham a holiday Inn hotel was set on fire by a lightning strike, Hampshire Fire Services confirmed. The Met Office forecasts that there will be more storms developing mid-week.
