Local Professional Photographer Paul Rapson collected
an award from Dr Adam Hart-Davis, who was also one of the
judges at the Visions of Science Competition.
Paul's image of blue ink in water was highly commended
in the action section of the competition.
Dr Adam Hart-Davis, the television presenter said: "The
variety of subjects and styles was splendid and picking
the winners was, as ever, extremely difficult, with different
judges noisily championing a particular favourite photograph."
Dr
Adam Hart-Davis championed Paul's image and though it was
not the overall winner was selected for an award. He said "that
it was a very simple idea that has produced a beautiful
image".
Paul has spent many years as an industrial photographer
for many of the local companies and is now splitting his
time between supplying the London Science Photo Library,
industrial photography and producing abstract art photographs
with a scientific and graphic bias.
He will be holding
a solo exhibition at the Hanger Farm Art Centre in April
next year. |
