Police in the New Forest are appealing for witnesses and information, after 500 litres of diesel was siphoned from buses parked at the Solent Blue Line depot in Fawley.

The fuel, worth about £500, was siphoned from five vehicles at the Newlands Road site, between 12.40am and 1.20am on Wednesday, June 14, after the compound fencing was cut.

Damage was also caused to the depot’s electronic fuel pump and several storage units.

PC Adrian Woodhead, of Hythe Police Station, said: “I am anxious to hear from anyone in the Waterside area who has been offered cheap diesel to buy in the last two days. I would also like to hear from anyone who was near the bus station at the time this incident occurred and witnessed anything suspicious.”

Anyone with any information should contact PC Woodhead at Hythe Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
