Police at Hythe are appealing for witnesses following a brawl outside the Hampshire Yeoman pub in Blackfield in the early hours of Saturday morning, September 2.

A large group of around 25-30 people were milling around outside the pub just before 12.30am, when a fight broke out that left three men sustaining superficial injuries.

The attack appears to have been unprovoked and police are appealing for witness or information that will assist with their enquiry.

They would especially like to speak to anyone who was part of the assembled group of people outside the pub when the fight broke out and one particular man who is described as:

  • White
  • Aged 20-25
  • 5ft 6ins tall
  • Slight build
  • Short dark hair

He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a dark sweater.

This man was seen in an agitated state at the scene and because of his behaviour; officers believe he may well have knowledge of why the fight broke out.

Investigating officers would also like to speak to anyone who was in the pub that evening or in the Old Mill pub in nearby Holbury earlier that evening when another fight broke out.

Information should be given by phoning Hythe police station on 0845 045 45 45 or on the anonymous Crimestopper line 0800 555 111.
