Lets Get Recycling
Lets Get Recycling logo

As Santa prepares to fill his festive sack with presents, New Forest residents are urged to consider what they’ll be putting in their clear recycling sacks over the Christmas period.

Christmas cards, card, plastic bottles, paper, tins and cans can all be recycled using NFDC’s clear recycling sacks.

Christmas gift wrap cannot be recycled so shouldn’t be put in the clear sacks and glass bottles should be taken to a bottle bank.

Environment portfolio holder Councillor Edward Heron said:

“With Christmas approaching many of us will be buying gifts and groceries - and that means lots of packaging. New Forest residents have been doing a great job of recycling and we’re keen that they keep up the good work over the Christmas period.”

This message comes as New Forest District Council launches its ‘Twelve green tips for Christmas’ web campaign on December 15, encouraging residents to reduce, re-use and recycle as much as they can over the festive season.
