Police appeal following a robbery in Holbury

Police are appealing for information after a 43-year-old woman was robbed on a footpath between Oakley Close and Watton Road, Holbury.

The woman was approached by a man at approximately 1.35pm yesterday, Wednesday, March 12
.
The man demanded money, when the woman refused she was hit in the face.

She sustained a broken jaw as a result of the incident and was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The man is described as:
  • White
  • In his 30s
  • Wearing a grey or black coloured tracksuit and a dark beanie hat

Sergeant Simon Price of Hythe police station said: “This type of incident is extremely rare in this area, which makes it particularly shocking.

“The woman was shaken following the attack and in considerable pain.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw a man matching this description in the area yesterday lunchtime to contact us.”
