Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was robbed in Hampton Lane, Blackfield between 6 and 6.20pm on Monday, November 2.

The girl was pulled into a cut-way leading from Hampton Lane to Wheelers Walk by three men.

She was robbed of her handbag, which contained a small amount of cash and a mobile phone, and punched twice in the stomach.

The girl sustained minor injuries and was treated by ambulance staff at the scene.

The men are described as:

  • White
  • Aged between 20 and 35 years
  • Wearing dark coloured hooded tops and scarves

Police are also keen to identify men wearing white and black vest tops seen in roads leading off Hampton Road around the time of the incident.

Detective Constable Lisa Poole of Lyndhurst CID said:

“This is an appalling attack on a young woman who has been emotionally traumatised by the incident. She is being supported by her family and police officers.

“Attacks of this nature are very rare, particularly on a woman at this time of day when a lot of people would have been around. I would urge anyone with information to contact us.

“When walking alone keep to areas which are well lit and have other people around. Contact police as soon as possible if you notice any suspicious people or activity. Your Safer Neighbourhoods team can be contacted on 101 if you require further personal safety advice.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact DC Poole at Lyndhurst CID on 101, or call Crimestoppers, the charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Callers from outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight should dial 0845 045 45 45.
