Enhance Heather Road with a week of events

Listen Now

New Forest residents in the Blackfield area are being invited to ‘enhance’ their lives with an exciting programme of events being held next week (January 25 to 29).

Heather Road will be at the centre of the action, which will include lifestyle sessions and plenty of fun for all ages.

Free internet surfing, Saints football for tots, a diversity roadshow and Forest fun are all timetabled, along with advice and support on health matters, parenting, crime prevention, housing and eco-issues, and much more.

The Forest First Community Centre will be hosting the ENHANCE week, with sessions running from 9.30am every day.

Organised by Community First New Forest, some of the organisations taking part are:

The ENHANCE week - a multi-agency partnership, aims to work with the community to tackle any issues and concerns regarding living on the estate.

There will be plenty of opportunities for local people to talk with representatives from relevant agencies to make suggestions for improving life in the Heather Road area.

In addition, there will be some changes happening in the area. For example, Community Payback will be carrying out some clearing and tidying works,

Bluestar Buses will be replacing the bus stop signs and NFDC is planning to renew the street names.

Local providers hope to help you to make a difference in 2010 and onwards, so come along and see for yourselves.
