Hello again as can be seen from the incidents reported above it has been another quite fortnight thankfully for crime and disorder in the parish.
The main focus on theft appears to be items taken from front gardens, cycles, fish, and ornaments. Obviously it is very difficult to prevent theft of some of these items however as is the case with a lot of theft crime it is opportunist, so please keep valuables secure where possible and in cases of items left out all the time make sure that the area they are in is as unfriendly to thieves as possible by using lights with movement sensors, and keeping front hedges and fences low, so that thieves are not shielded from view.
One disappointing issue is youths and alcohol 2 shops and 1 person in the Fawley area have been given £ 80 fines for supplying to persons under 18. On Friday 18th May police poured away eighty nine bottles of alcohol seized from under 18’s in a few hours. Clearly this is unacceptable and causes problems of crime latter in the evening with damage nuisance and assaults. The vast amount of this alcohol was taken from “decent” youths who were in large groups, therefore Hythe Safer Neighbourhoods team is asking all parents to take the time to speak to their teenage children and warn them about the risks of alcohol and take measures at home so that alcohol is taken from the home address to be drunk in the street. Any youths found drunk or causing a nuisance will be dealt with effectively to ensure the quality of life of others isn’t affected, this will be in the form of arrest or letters home depending on the nature of the issue.
In Calshot where there have been issues in the past with anti social behaviour towards persons enjoying the beach one adult has been arrested and charged with a public order offence. High visibility patrols will continue in this area as well as in other areas of the parish which have been identified as suffering from anti social behaviour in order to reassure the community and deal with offenders.
At Heather Rd Western Challenge housing association are actively working with police to deal with anti social addresses which are adversely affecting other residents in the community. Hopefully this will improve the situation for residents with relevant households being targeted for acceptable behaviour contracts and possible eviction for breach of tenancy if they fail to improve their behaviour towards other people and their property.

Finally I have mentioned it before but it is well worth highlighting again about persons cold calling by phone or in person regarding issues that you have no knowledge. Please don’t give out any personal information or allow persons into your premises without checking out who they are. Recently we had some ladies in our area stating that they were from the dept of work and pensions trying to con their way into a someone’s house.
ALLWAYS CHECK A CALLERS IDENTITY AND NEVER GIVE OUT INFORMATION OR ALLOW ENTRY TO PERSONS WHO YOU HAVE DOUBTS OVER.
A GENUINE CALLER WILL WAIT WHILE YOU CHECK THEM OUT. ALSO NEVER USE THEIR TELEPHONE NUMBER BUT USE THAT IN THE TELEPHONE DIRECTORY.
