Hello to the latest parish newsletter, it seems that the vast majority of incidents are now of nuisance related either being noise, vehicle or youth related.
Police work with various agencies to improve social issues such as this. In the last 2 weeks I have warned 3 drivers regarding inappropriate use of vehicles and other officers will have warned more.
Such a warning means that if stopped again in the next year the vehicle will be seized.
In the Holbury area it appears that youths are starting to become more of a nuisance again with underage drinking and the problems this brings. As such patrols will be targeting this area at weekends in order to seize alcohol and deal with youths found causing problems. Parents please play your part in solving this issue by not allowing alcohol to be removed from the home and ensuring that you know where your children are and that they are not out at inappropriate times.
There has been one incident of a disturbing nature where a male was seen to expose himself on Calshot Beach, if ever persons come across suspicious or offensive incidents such as this please contact the police straight away with as good as description as possible of the offender to positive action can be taken to investigate the offence and protect the public.
Luckily on this occasion no person was harmed threatened or assaulted, that being said it is still unacceptable and upsetting for persons witnessing such incidents.
Tristan close Calshot, has had some good news recently with enhanced police presence and actions by NFDC. The play area is being rejuvenated so that it again safe to play football and on foot patrols of the area with council several issues relating to nuisance, rubbish and neighbours were dealt with and problems resolved.
PC Tallon is currently on attachment with the Safer Neighbourhoods team as such there is an extra officer patrolling in the Fawley Parish for the next month which is always good news.
Thankfully there has only been one burglary in the parish in the last fortnight.
This was likely to be an opportunist incident where a valuable item was left on a window sill with the window ajar.
I have said it before but it is well worth saying again as it will hopefully save someone a lot of time money and distress, please keep all valuables secure, out of sight and personally marked to deter criminals.
If in hot weather there is a need to have windows open then please make sure they are locked on a latch and if possible have windows in areas which can’t be broken into easily (such as first floor) open and not those on the ground floor were access can be easily achieved by criminals.
Good security measures will include CCTV, warning signs, and keeping hedging and fences low at the front of the house can be seen (this makes it more difficult for them to commit crime without being seen, thereby making them vulnerable).
If any one wishes to obtain crime prevention information then please feel free to pop into Hythe Police station to obtain leaflets or speak to an officer for advice.
Hythe police station front office is open weekdays during office hours. However for emergency response there are always police officers at Hythe on duty to respond 24hours a day each and every day of the year.
It may not have escaped your notice that at the end of May there was a high visibility Police presence in the Fawley Parish around high profile areas.
This was to protect and reassure the local community in relation to terrorism offences and to deter and detect any persons presenting a threat to national security.
Local persons having contact with the police were very impressed and reassured that local police were out and about and the general comments were that individuals felt safer, happier and content with police dealing with this sensitive issue.
