Waterside Theatre Company is thrilled to announce its latest production, Singin’ in the Rain. Full of familiar, feel-good songs like Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh and You Are My Lucky Star as well as the unforgettable title song, this classic musical tells the tale of how ‘the talkies’ came to Hollywood.
It follows the story of Kathy, a young, unknown, aspiring actress as she finally gets her big break and captures the heart of Don, Monumental Pictures leading man.
As the talkies take the world by storm, the studio’s latest film is in trouble and Lina, Don’s leading lady and supposed fiancé, struggles to keep her place as the studio’s superstar. Don’s best friend Cosmo has an idea to help the studio that could be the end of Lina’s career….and the start of Kathy’s!
Will the talkies ever be as successful as the silent movies? Will Cosmo’s idea work? Can the film be saved? And will Don and Kathy ever find true love?
Come to The Waterside Theatre in Holbury to find out! The performances run from 19th - 23rd February at 7:30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2:30pm. Tickets are priced £7 for all on Tuesday, then £8.50 (£7.50 concessions) on Wednesday - Saturday and are available now by calling 023 8084 1533 or on the door at the theatre during the week of the show.
