Esso, ExxonMobil Chemical and Nalco at Fawley regularly issue information on safety to around 3,500 local householders and businesses.
In partnership with Fawley Online, the companies on the Fawley site are making this information available on the internet.
The information pack that is distributed to residents contains an Emergency Instructions Card as well as a brochure which provides a description of the activities on the Fawley site as well as information about the Emergency Instructions Card.
In early 2015 and following a review by Hampshire County Council of the Fawley South Public Information Zone (PIZ), the PIZ has been extended to encompass additional households and businesses. This was as a result of new modelling which was conducted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A letter together with a questions and answers document was delivered to addiitonal households and businesses to advise of this change. Please be reassured that although the Fawley South PIZ has been extended the risks at the Fawley site have not changed. The modelling of the risks have changed. Copies of the letter together with the questions and answers document are available by clicking the “Safety Information Pack Contents”
Safety at Fawley
Safety is a core value for the refining and petrochemical industries at Fawley, who take all reasonable steps to prevent accidents of any type.
They have emergency plans in place to minimise the effects of any incident.
If necessary, the companies’ resources would be reinforced by the emergency services and special provisions made by Hampshire County Council.
Our Commitment to You
Esso, ExxonMobil Chemical and Nalco are strongly committed to the highest standards of safety for people and the environment.
We will continue to work together to meet and, where possible, to improve on these standards both now and into the future.
