Home Front Heritage Weekend at Lepe Country Park – 10:00am Saturday 25 Jun 2016

The Lepe Point classroom is being transformed for the weekend into our Home Front exhibition.

Explore the story of Lepe in the run up to D-Day through story boards, films, memories and more. You will also find out about the various activities and preparations that occurred across the New Forest. The exhibition is free to enjoy.

Outside the exhibition, our Friends of Lepe tea tent will be offering refreshments and our café will be hosting a wartime themed menu all weekend.

Around the park, you can take part in a guided walk down to the embarkation beach and children’s D-Day trails (pick up from the office or exhibition for £2 per child throughout the day) will help them explore the park & Lepe’s history.

Finally, the Solent Overlord Military Club will be hosting a static display of vehicles in the back meadows – a not to miss weekend and if you’re luck you’ll also enjoy some musical entertainment
