On 28th January, members of the Gang Warily Inclusive Group joined local Councillors and Gang Warily staff for the opening ceremony of a new automatic door.
The new entrance cost over £5000. Two grants were secured to help Fawley Parish Council fund the project. Hampshire County Councillor, Phillip Fawkes contributed £700 and The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust awarding the Council £1000.
The entrance to Gang Warily Community & Recreation Centre had been highlighted as a barrier for some members of the public to use the leisure facility.
It is now hoped that this improved access will increase the confidence of disability users to enjoy the centre independently and promote active lifestyles within the community.
Local resident and member of the Gang Warily Inclusive Group, Mr Brian Hancock was invited to cut the ribbon and declare the door officially open.
