Exbury Gardens in the New Forest is set to stage its annual Ghost Train during half-term week, Sat 25 October to Sun 2 November, and is appealing for charities, clubs and societies to fashion suitably spooky scarecrows.

‘The Ghost Train runs along a 1 1/4 mile route around the north-east corner of the Gardens, and part of the fun is for families to spot lots of Halloween characters and figures from the train’ said Exbury’s Marketing Manager Vicky Scott.

This year we want to put an emphasis on SCAREcrows. It’s a great opportunity for local groups and charities to get involved, and for each donation we will supply a ticket for the Ghost Train to help raise funds.

In the past we have had ghostly Gardener Scarecrows (the aptly named Doug and Doug-less and leaf collector Mr Russell); witches and pirates.

Interested parties should contact us so we can advise on our ideas for 2015 to link with new Halloween themes.’

Those wishing to fashion a scarecrow, which need to be supplied to the Gardens by Wednesday 22 October, can call 023 8089 1203 during office hours or e-mail info@exbury.co.uk
