Go Medieval this May half-term at Beaulieu 23rd – 31st May 2015

This May half-term at Beaulieu, 23rd– 31st May, there will be fun and games for all the family.

Enjoy Giant Games in the grounds; balance blocks in a towering Jenga game, get tactical with giant size Chess and Noughts and Crosses and test out your logic skills with larger than life Connect Four.

Budding young drivers can take to the track on the Mini Car Driving Circuit*, or get active on Dipstick’s Mini Motor Play Trail with its Veteran Bus climbing frame, swings and Little Tykes ride-on cars.

In Palace House the costumed guides will reveal what life was really like in a Victorian country house.

In a new feature, Medieval May, running from 28th – 31th May, find out about life in the Middle Ages.

Listen as a costumed monk recounts what life was like for the monks who lived in Beaulieu Abbey during the 13th & 14th centuries. See falconry demonstrations in the Abbey Cloister and in the Nave learn about the life of a soldier in medieval times and watch demonstrations of bowmanship by the Beaulieu Bowmen.

Make sure you see the amazing vehicles on display in the National Motor Museum, from British Land Speed Record breakers, to classic family saloons.

Take a trip back in time with Jack Tucker’s recreated 1930s country garage and experience Wheels, a pod ride through 100 years of motoring history.

Don’t miss A Chequered History, a brand new motor sport display showcasing some of the most remarkable race and rally cars from the history of motor racing, from the earliest racers up to modern F1 cars.

See some of your favourite automotive stars of the screen in On Screen Cars, including Wallace & Gromit’s Anti-Pesto van and Ron Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Stop off at World of Top Gear to see the cars built by the presenters for some of their most memorable challenges, and hop onboard the open-topped Veteran Bus or the high-level Monorail for a ride through the Beaulieu grounds.

Visitors to Beaulieu on the 24th and 25th May can also enjoy Truckmania, a family event in the Beaulieu parkland which celebrates the world of trucking, with over 200 lorries of all shapes and sizes on display.

Enjoy Mini Truck World, a miniature kingdom devoted to remote controlled model trucks, and don’t miss the action-packed monster truck show with Big Pete and the Grim Reaper.
