Drivers should be aware of some restrictions to car parking facilities when the council carries out resurfacing work to car parks in Lymington, New Milton and Totton during October.
Lymington: St. Thomas Street and Cannon Street (West) car parks
Part of the St Thomas Street car park, behind Marks and Spencer, in Lymington will be closed from Monday 5 October for approximately five days.
The works will affect the rear south-west corner. All the remaining bays will still be available throughout, offering a maximum stay of 20 hours. The council will make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum.
Following this, the small car park at Cannon Street (West), opposite the dental practice, will be closed completely for resurfacing from Monday 19 October for approximately four days while the works are completed.
Access to the shops and businesses surrounding both car parks will be maintained throughout the work.
Totton: Westfield car park
Two of the main vehicle routes through Westfield car park (accessed off Salisbury Road) will be resurfaced during the week beginning 5 October.
The car park is expected to remain open most of the week; however there will be a brief closure while work is carried out at the entrance and the number of parking bays will be reduced.
New Milton: Elm Avenue and Osborne Road car parks
One half of Osborne Road car park will be resurfaced along with work to drainage channels, during the week commencing 12 October.
It is expected that the remainder of the car park will remain open during the work.
The main vehicle routes through the Elm Avenue car park will be resurfaced during the week commencing 19 October, resulting in restricted parking until the work is complete.
Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
The dates and durations of the resurfacing work may be subject to change depending on weather conditions.
