Fawley Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 16 Consultation

New Forest District Council (NFDC) is undertaking a Regulation 16 Consultation on the submission of the Fawley Neighbourhood Plan.
The Fawley Neighbourhood Plan will enable local communities to have more influence on development in their area, such as setting planning policies that direct where new homes, shops, and offices are built.
The plan can also help determine what new buildings look like, guide how infrastructure is provided, and provide tools that help people plan for development that aligns with their local needs.
Residents can comment on these documents online from Friday 3 April 2026 and responses must be received no later than 5pm on Sunday 17 May 2026.
Alternatively, comments may be submitted by email to policyandplans@nfdc.gov.uk.
Fawley Parish Council began work on its Neighbourhood Plan in 2024, including an early round of public consultation to help shape the final draft.
On 22 December 2025, the Parish Council submitted the Fawley Neighbourhood Plan to NFDC, followed by the submission of the Consultation Statement on 26 March 2026.
The next step is a six-week consultation on the submission version of the Fawley Neighbourhood Plan, which will be carried out by NFDC.
All comments received during this period will be considered by an independent Examiner appointed by the planning authorities.
If the Examiner supports the Plan, the final stage will be a local referendum, where residents of Fawley will be asked whether they support the Fawley Neighbourhood Plan.
